Community Ad Grants Each month, one banner ad slot will be available for a charity or community project, completely free of charge, including banner design services. These banner ads appear near the top center of Crochetville and normally cost $50-100 per month. This ad location is reserved only for crochet or fiber-related businesses that are all hand-approved by Crochetville co-owners Donna Hulka and Amy Shelton. How It Works If you would like a banner ad and think your charity or project may qualify for our Community Ad Grants program, please use the Contact Us form and provide the following information.

Our Community Ad Grants program began in February 2009. The following is a list of recipients. The Crochet Guild of America is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit educational organization dedicated to preserving and advancing the art of crochet. The main purposes of CGOA are to educate the public about crochet, provide education and networking opportunities, and set a national standard for the quality, art and skill of crochet through creative endeavors. Chain Link, the CGOA's annual conference, was held August 6-9, 2009, in Buffalo, NY. (July 2009 Grant Recipient) Compassionate Creations supplies handmade scarves (and sometimes handmade wristbands or lapsquares) to crisis centers and domestic abuse shelters to provide a small gesture of support and source of comfort for survivors of sexual assault or abuse. Most of the scarves are made by survivors for survivors, but some are made by friends or family members of survivors or by people who want to do something to stand out against the sexual violence they see in the world around them. (March 2009 Grant Recipient) The Milkweed Project will be a large-scale collaborative art project comprised of the work of hundreds of fiber artists. All skill levels are invited to create a piece that will become part of a giant milkweed pod art installation. It is being organized by artist Shan Bryan-Hanson who is a Professor of Art at Silver Lake College in Wisconsin. (February 2009 Grant Recipient) |
