I had bought a crochet hook case from the store and it was crummy! All the hooks fell out when you held it sideways. So I crocheted this one and I love it!
Its from the pattern here: http://www.sarahanns.com/crochetworks/case.html

This is my favorite hook holder pattern. I've made a few and they all work so well. I love yours, is that Boa around the outside?? Great job!!!:clap

Thanks :) Yep boa around the outside, thought it would make it look more modern than the original design with the flower :D
I think I'll make another one now that I know how it works LOL like with chains for the larger hooks instead of just front loops.

That's awesome! I've been looking for a pattern for a hook holder that was crocheted instead of sewn like the ones I've seen. Great job!

I like the way that looks very much! At first I thought that you had done very tiny fringe all the way around, didn't even think of eyelash yarn, so duh to me! Very cute!

yes, the only slightly difficult (more annoying than difficult) was sewing the pocket on. I like to slip stitch with the hook instead of sew wherever possible LOL but it comes through too much on the back if you do that...

I have been planning to make that FOREVER :D
Me too! But I got lazy and bought one instead. And then my hooks fell out onto pavement! eek what horror! So that really got me around to making it LOL

Thanks everyone for the compliments :D
If you make one, I recommend a yarn that has some stretch to it, works better to hold in the hooks than a nonstretchy one like say cotton or simply soft.

I made a case w/ this pattern & I love it!
It was so easy.
I got bored doing all that single crocheting, but
I finished it in no time!
I'm going to make my son one.

yup...he's been crocheting for about a month or so now. He caught on really well...in fact normally does better than I do! Except he can't read a pattern...I have to read it to him...but he follows directions well...lol! He's actually making a couple of the squares for the square exchange...begged me for an hour...hey, keeps him out of trouble anyway!

I love it, Great job!
I wing one out but this one is a million times better. Mine is only for hook, with this one I can get rid of my case and have everything togeter. I will have to include it in my to do list. Great find! Thanks
Nice hooks too! The ones on the right, are they just plain clear? It is hard to see with the nice color of your case.
Keep up the good work

That turned out really nice! I always wanted to make a holder for my stuff, but never did. Your project inspired me so much that I went to the store and bought some purple and pink yarn and boa for it:cheer Doona

Thanks :D The hooks are transparent but different colors. They didn't photograph well. They are Susan Bates Crystallites. I'm not fond of crystallites but I needed an L and P hook and couldn't find those anywhere else.
