I have only taken the thread crochet classes from Kathy White. I LOVED them! She is a wonderful teacher and a very gifted artist. I feel like I learned to paint from VanGough himself! I love that Crochetville offers these classes. I would love to take more. It's so nice to do it at your leisure and for the lessons to be up for awhile. Two thumbs up from this Ville member!

I took a class with Kim Guzman, primarily to learn something beyond simple tunisian crochet. Her explanations were extremely precise and detailed--I loved what I was able to learn, and ended up with a gorgeous lacy scarf for my little girl.

I've taken classes with both Kim Guzman and Karen Whooley. They are both great instructors! :c9 I learned a lot in their classes. I liked the fact that you could go at your own pace.

Took classes with both Kim Guzman and Carol Ventura. Loved both teachers. I knew Tunisian and was just brushing up on newer stitches. I also knew Tapestry Crochet but wanted to learn the beading part. They were both great lessons, but I did find the Tapestry one more informing for me personally, I am very hooked on tapestry purses.
I know Kathy White's classes must have been marvelous, she is a very talented and artistic woman with a great personality. But I had no need to learn thread arts.
I am faithfully awaiting a replay of the toe up class, and the new one for top down sweaters by Karen Whooley.

Tomorrow is the one year anniversary of the start of Maria Merlino's Bottom Up Pineapple Shawl class, the only class I have taken

I had never before attempted to do anything like it, and didn't think I would be able to. But Maria's instructions were very detailed, and were accompanied by tons of photographs.

I never took a picture of the completed shawl...too late and dark right now to do it. But I used Bernat Satin in white, which has a slight sheen to it. I have offered it to my niece to wear at her wedding this fall.

When time and finances allow, I will probably take another class.

Thanks Maria...it was wonderful!!!

I have taken the Toe Up Socks class with Karen Whooley back in March 2009. Karen was very helpful her pattern is easy to follow. Even if you don't get your socks finished by the time the 2 week class is up Karen lets all of her students know that if they still need her help to feel free to contact her with their questions. Karen provided great photo tutorials on the socks. I felt as if Karen was in the same room with me. She also answers your questions very quickly. She is in the classroom at least once a day. She also does daily check ins.

I noticed on the class sign up page that Karen is doing another sock class. If you were hesitant about doing the class she had in March don't hesitate about the upcoming sock class. If you sign up for this upcoming sock class you will be glad you did!

I recently completed Savvy Single Crochet taught by Karen Whooley and African Violets by June Gilbank. Both classes were excellent. Karen and June are excellent instructors and are always available to help or answer questions. Their lessons were very thorough and easy to understand! I hope to take another of Karen's classes later this year, and would love to see more offered by June as well. Thanks both for a great experience!

All of the instructors have given informative written materials with good pictures and lots on online support. Questions are answered promptly with clearly stated methods.

I've taken the following: Bottom Up Pineapple Shawl - Maria Merlino, Toe Up Socks - Karen Whooley, Savvy Single Crochet - Karen Whooley, and
Learn Broomstick Lace - Kim Gusman. There was one more but I can't recall the exact name or instructor right now. I would take additional classes from any of them in the future and am keeping my eye on the schedule of upcoming classes.

I took Savvy Single Crochet with Karen Whooley this summer and learned so much more than I expected. :hook

In the process of learning this fun technique that expands the crocheter's repertoire, I also learned more about how the different parts of the stitch work, which has helped me adjust my gauge more easily in everything I have made since. :yay Also, I've been inspired by the technique to design several of my own projects, including a kitchen rug and a car-seat blanket.

Karen was a great teacher -- clear explanations, timely answers to questions, good photos! I can't wait to see what she will offer in 2010. :hug

I really love Kathy's materials and explanations - I really felt that I picked up the padded ring and padded cord techniques, though I can certainly use more practice! It was a busy time for me and I did not really have the time to devote to the class, like I did last year with Beginning Filet Crochet with Kathy (another great course!), so I have not yet finished the project - but I learned the techniques I wanted to and have already been able to use them in my own work :).

:hook Highly Recommended,
Marika
