I am heading to MONTANA in a week! I'm SO excited! I'm looking for something to work on while I'm up there, but I'd like something easy/quick. I have been making dishcloths like crazy, so I might do that, but does anyone have any other ideas for projects?
I'm not an "advanced" crafter, but I am pretty good at the basics. I can't pack too much yarn, so I need something that will make up pretty quickly, and nothing that needs stuffing.
Any ideas? :)

I have been making hats like crazy too. :) I like making them, and I'll probably make a couple, but I'm looking for some more variety.

spiral scrubbies (goes with the dishcloth theme), afghan squares (crochet pattern central has a bunch)...you can make the squares on the go, and attach them later (thought I'd mention it, even though that drives me buggy, personally). Purses/totes...
I'd wander around www.crochetpatterncentral.com for awhile and see what interests you. :)

Lily Sugar N Cream has a free market bag pattern on their website (and some of their labels) It takes 2 balls of the cotton and is a simple pattern. It will be good for bringing home souvieniers!

If using crochet thread and smaller hooks appeals to you, perhaps bookmarks might be an idea. Or, maybe snowflakes for the holidays?

I will be traveling soon myself. Here's what I plan to take with me:
Angel Dishcloth (http://promotions.drgnetwork.com/newsletters/talkingcrochet/pages/TCNL2907_patt3.html)
Squidgee Cloth (http://knit-nutt.blogspot.com/2008/01/squidge-cloth.html)
Hat (http://www.coatsandclark.com/Crafts/Knitting/Projects/Accessories/LW1268+Gotcha+Covered+1.htm)
That should keep me busy and give me a little variety. Truth is, I probably won't have time to do much. Only in the car ride there and back. Once I get to where I'm going, I'll be too busy! :yay

I was going to say "dishcloth", but you've been making lots of these.
Last time I was on a plane for a long trip (26h to South Africa, and 24h back!) I made myself a nice tote bag :) Obviously, I didn't crochet the whole way, hehe.
I like the idea of making squares for a blanket, or a bag. That's what I would do if I wasn't working on coral reef critters at the moment. :hook
Have a nice trip!! Montana is a nice place (I'm one hour north from the border!)
