I just love to spin my own yarns. Admittedly it does not look like anything storebought yet (nor like anything I ever saw other people spin lol), but it is yarn! I can crochet it if I would want to :c9
I swear, I thought knitting and crochet worked healing, but spinning on a spindle tops that, even for this clumsy beginner.

Isn't it a great feeling????
The wonderful thing about handspun is that is *doesn't* look like anything else out there, you've got a truly one of a kind creation :cheer

....But of Course ! I DON'T WANT my handspun to look like it's been machine made ! What would be the point in handspinning all those lover-ly woolies ourselves ?!?!?! :)

:D too true!
I am now spinning some merino. It is a DREAM to work with!
And as I constantly got my roving caught up with the thread on the spindle, I changed from wrapping the roving around my wrist to spinning from the fold. That really made a change! I can spin short pieces of similar yarn now,and even pulled while the spindle was still twisting (in stead of park and draft I did up until now ;) )
The next adventure is plying, I am going to ply some white merino yarn I made, and see how that is going to look :)
I was thinking of maybe making an afghan of my first handspun adventures, but the idea of just framing the skeins is calling to me as well :) )
