I am in a swap, and received a square that was called a bias crocheted square. It starts in the corner with dc's it seems, and think goes every other rows with hdc's. But goes from corner to corner kinda diagonal. Looks really neat, and am looking for new patterns for my swap . Any ideas of where I could find it, or start it out to kinda figure it out on , my own?
Thanks,
Rose

Is it just me, but that pattern is for knitters. I didn't find the crochet one.

there are instructions for knitting, machine knitting, and crochet.
the only thing wrong is that it jumps from lesson 1 to lesson 4;
lessons 2 and 3 are missing.

Take another look. It's for both. Start with about the fifth paragraph of Lesson 1.

here is an afghan pattern, you could use the beginning to increase to the size you want, then the last part to decrease to the final corner http://www.bfranklincrafts.com/CraftIdeas/CraftIdea-CrochetThrow.html
the basic idea is to start with a stitch and increase at the beginning and end of each row, til you reach the largest point, then decrease at the beginning and end of each row.
there is a diagonal sc square in 200 Crochet Blocks by Jan Eaton; if you look at the book on Amazon and do the look inside thing, you can see a tiny pic of it. and here is a flickr shot of block someone crocheted http://www.flickr.com/photos/kookychick82/3465468116/
the book also contains some of the mitered squares like dmandy linked to.

Thanks everyone for all the replies. I think I found it under a pattern called a diagonal baby facecloth. It looks exactly like what I was looking for.
Some of the replies although are very beautiful as well. Especially that shawl. I think I may have to make myself one.
You guys are the greatest for trying to help me find what I was looking for.
I would post the link for the pattern but it's a link that non postable.. and I tried to post it anyways ... OOPS ! I'll know better next time lol.
Thanks,
Rose
