Well today i'm trying my hand at my first granny square! I know that sounds crazy - but its true. I'm curious about the yarn color switch....do you break off and add new color with a knot?:thinking1 that seems kinda messy - does anyone have any tips for this. I'm not a big color change crocheter - so my experience with adding new colors is limited. I don't want my scarf to be messy. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!! Thanks!!!

Forgot to mention, I personally use method #3 as discribed in the first website I gave you.

I, too, use method #3. And train yourself to weave in all those ends before you go on to your next square. That way, when you get ready to attach the squares to each other, they will be all finished and half the finishing work will be done after attaching. :))

Yep, Weave in those pesky ends as you go. I weave them in right after I join a new color or skien of yarn. I weave them into the stitches I will be crocheting into next and then crochet over the top. I count it as part of the color change. Sonny
