Skill Level: Beginner.

Description: This class will be a very hands-on class. Students will create a number of 8" x 8" swatches in yarn of different sizes with different size hooks to see how gauge affects fabric drape. Class discussion will cover the importance of gauge and different techniques to use to obtain gauge.


Supplies Needed:

Smooth yarn in a variety weights (fingering, sport, DK, worsted, heavy) in amounts to make several 8" x 8" swatches with different hooks--single color or softly monochromatic colors will work best
Variety of crochet hook sizes
Optional: any novelty yarns you want to experiment with
