I'm currently working on a sweater using this variation of the V-Stitch (DC, Ch2, DC, in the same stitch) Here is my problem. When working on the sleeves of this project I need to decrease on either side of certain rows, Which I have been doing by DC in one CH2 space, Ch2 and then DC in the next Ch2 space. The problem is that this leaves a "hole" in the pattern stitch that is noticably bigger than the rest of the holes. It's not horrible, but I don't care for the look of it. Do any of you know a neater way to decrease in this stitch pattern? Sonny

in a poncho i did using the V stitch - i decrease by ending a row in dc, instead of dc ch2 dc.....
make sense.... just 1/2 the stitch ????
maybe that will work here as well?

I will have to try that, the rows end with a double crochet on each end anyway so It wouldn't look too out of place to have two double crochets on the ends of the decreased rows, certainly better than, the grand canyon that my first idea left( ok it's not that bad, I know the flaw is there though so that's where my eye is drawn.)

I had to do something similar for a cardigan I made. Where the row would end dc, ch2, dc, dc, I decreased by ending dc, ch1, dc.
