I am searching for a sweater pattern that I found sometime in the 1970's, in Toronto Canada. The sweater was made up of squares, it was all different kinds of yarn, but all in colours of white, grey, and silver. I remember it as a kind of kimono style. There was nothing special in terms of the crochet stitch, just the different types of yarn: Some knobby or boucle yarn, some ribbon - I don't even know if these yarns are even still available, but I wouldn't mind trying to make the sweater again after all these years. I never finished it back when I was a teenager, and haven't crocheted since until I picked it up again this year. If anyone knows of the booklet with that pattern, and where I can pick it up, I would love to hear from you.

don't know if the patterns still out there... maybe not, but there might be somethign similar.

Do you remember what the squares looked like? Granny squares? Flowers in the center? Open work squares? Pineapple squares? Circles in squares?

Do you still have the sweater and could you post a pic? Maybe draw what you remember, if you remember anything or can even draw?

Hi Goldenj32w2,
Thanks for the reply - no, it's not that sweater (although I do like it!)
The sweater I'm talking about is made up entirely of squares and triangles, sewn together. The gray is much lighter, blend more closely with the white and silver. But I appreciate you trying to help - Thanks again!

Hi Debbie-a1,
Thanks for replying to my post, I appreciate all the help I can get.
The squares have no design to them whatsoever, they were probably just simple single crochet stitches. The thing about the sweater was the yarn - all the different types and the colors: white, pale grey, and silver. I can attempt to draw it - like I said, a kimono style sweater, made up of squares, with triangles to even out the edges. I'm probably never going to find it, but I appreciate the effort.

Thanks.

Check out these links, maybe something is similar?

Something there might be close or you might prefer it over what you're looking for.
