Description: Tunisian crochet is the best medium I have found for felted projects. It really makes terrific projects and you won't be disappointed! This bag incorporates 3 Tunisian crochet stitches and will allow you the opportunity to learn Tunisian crochet without purchasing a Tunisian crochet hook! That's right! If you have a K or L crochet hook without a thumb rest (like Brittany, Clover, or other wooden hook), you can complete this adorable bag with a smaller hook because the greatest number of stitches on the hook at any given time is only 15 stitches! In addition to learning the Tunisian stitches included in this unique project, you will learn the Tunisian Short Row Technique and then, you'll learn, step-by-step, how to felt your bag without a washing machine.

The pattern for this project is included in the class fee. However, if you prefer not to take the class, the pattern can be purchased separately (without class materials) here (http://www.kimanedesigns.net/products/Lil_Red_Bag.html).

Supplies Needed:

1 skein each of two coordinating colors, Cascade 220, or other comparable felting yarn (be careful not to choose "superwash" as this will not felt)
K afghan hook (Any K or L crochet hook without a thumb rest will also work.)
Small yarn needle (for weaving ends)

Hmm not sure about this one yet. It recommends taking the other bag class first and that's after this one. But we'll see, maybe I will get adventerous! :)

I only suggest that you have some prior Tunisian crochet experience. But, if you have none, I can still teach the class. It will just require more of a time commitment from the student.

Ah I have some Tunisian Experience, time might be a bigger issue in Nov, with holiday crocheting, *Someone's* Tunisian Lace book/dvd coming out, and my son coming out of Iraq heh But we will see how it looks when registrations open and then I can decide!

This would be perfect for my step sister for Christmas! I'm so glad you're having this one in Nov. :clap

I'm a beginner with Tunisian. I really want to expand my skills in that technique.

Hi Kim, I just signed up for this class. Missed the fact that you needed 5 students signed by 10/28. I hope you get enough people signed, I'd really like to take this class. I purchased a book a while back and went thru every pattern and did a sampler of each stitch pattern used. It's pretty cool looking and will probably continue on and turn it into a scarf. I love the knitted look and the ease of the crochet hook. Hope to be with you tomorrow starting this wonderful project, Franque
