Hi all!

I made my very first rug! <img border=0 src="http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/clap.gif" />
I started it yesterday and finished it today.
It was made with 4 strands of yarn and a Q-hook, boy is it nice and comfy on the feet <img border=0 src="http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/cloud9.gif" />
I'll post pictures in the morning but for now I have to get some sleep.

*Here are the pics I promised... I'm going back to JoAnn's today, I want to make a matching 'around the toilet' rug.

I was wondering if anybody who has made rugs before ever put 'sticky' stuff on the backside of it to keep the rug from sliding all over the tile?

How can I do that? And what can I use for it?

Thanks for any help!

I've heard suggestions before to use puff paint. I guess that would be similar to those no-slide mats you can buy for rugs... :thinking1

you can get that no-slip stuff at WM in the housewares dept... by the drawer organizer stuff/glassware/utensils.
it'll stay under the rug and keep it from moving without having to attach it-that way you don't mess with the fantasticness (is that a word?:p ) of your rug!

Great rug, Jayme! :clap

I've never crocheted a rug, but I like to use rug grips like these (http://www.plowhearth.com/product.asp?pcode=5986&country_code=0). You should be able to get similar ones pretty much anywhere. Maybe Walmart or Target, but I haven't bought any in a while, so I'm not sure.

Wow! That's really pretty. Great colors! What pattern did you use? My daughter's friend wants me to crochet her a rug, and I really liked yours! :clap

I really like your rug! :clap What yarn did you use for the stripes?

Thanks EVERYBODY!
I had a blast making it... and it only took two days! <img border=0 src="http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/clap.gif" />

I used the TLC Essentials, 'Steel Blue' for the main part, and the variegated 'Country Blues' for the stripes.
It was a very easy Single Crochet in one stitch and Double Crochet in the next, all the way across.
I used 4 strands held together and a great big Q-hook.

Thanks again for all the compliments!
I'll post the second half of the 'set' this weekend... I'm half-way thru the 'around the toilet' rug to match.

Off to crochet some more <img border=0 src="http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/wave.gif" />

I'm sorry, I made a mistake...
The variegated yarn is called 'Country Club'
not Country Blues...

I asked about the yarn in your other post. Here I have my answer! I really do love these rugs!

LOL. Guess I should... I am using that same blue in my 63 Squares Afghan. <img border=0 src="http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/wow.gif" />
