View Full Version : AJ's Dog Bone Mat Pattern
crochetdiva
August 4th, 2005, 01:32 AM
My pattern is now available here (http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=5698192) for sale. It is also in the Crochet A Day 2007 Calendar that is available in bookstores and Ebay, as well as Amazon.com.
But if you don't have the calendar and would like to purchase it directly from me that would be fine, as I still retain the copyright to the pattern, and therefore am free to sell it. :manyheart

I made a couple of these over the weekend using 3 strands of a mustardy colored WW that were an ebay boo-boo. They are SO cute. I know what's going to be the teacher present for Christmas this year! I also got inspired and made up a cat version. Just a square using 2 strands and doing pink triangle ears in the top 2 corners. Got both ends of the spectrum covered that way.

Andrea, I finished one mat but it turned out too big so I'm frogging and starting over. Your pattern is super! It's easy to follow and putting those circles in the corners is truly inspired! I was making it with 3 strands of homespun held together and my Jimbo Q hook and although I wanted it to be larger than yours, it turned out a little too large! (My own fault, not yours):) I'll post a photo when I finish it. Three strands of homespun are a bear to frog!:(

I'm not that good with choosing yarn. I read on this thread some have used Peaches & Cream yarn. I couldn't find that. I found Sugar & Cream, but it seams really thin. Anyone else use a specific yarn (brand name) that turned out well. I really want to make one of these.
Thanks for any help.

Reen,
Walmart carries Peaches N Cream. Peaches N Cream is the same as Sugar and Cream. When you make the mat you hold 4 strands together and trust me that is thick enough.
AJ's Dog Bone Mat is very fun and easy to make. I made the middle part of the bone a little longer on the first pictures posted and followed the pattern on the second set.
Have fun!

Hi, I just had a few questions. I was wondering when the Pattern will be for sale, and how much? The reason for the questions is this: My mom and I work at a local pound, and the county doesn't give much money to the pound to work with. I've been trying to think of a way that I could help, and the idea I came up with is to sell doggy related stuff, and donate the money to the pound. Which is why I asked the questions. I'm hoping to start raising the money for the pound before to long, and was going to ask you also if I would be able to get that pattern from you, and possibly use it for selling for what I guess would be considered a charity (I think so atleast). If you have an idea of the price, I would be interested in buying it.
Thank you for your time!!
God Bless!!!

The Crochet Pattern-A-Day calendar is a page-a-day calendar that features patterns by many designers, including many of our very own vilagers! I didn't realize 2007 was available yet, but you can check your local bookstore (that's where I got mine last year) as well as online retailers. At $14 last year (the 2006 version is sitting right here next to my pc), it was a steal, considering how many patterns are in there (not quite 365, but almost!).
