Other shapes?

I just started crocheting a few weeks ago. I've crocheted a couple drawstring bags in the round from patterns. Now I have a new crochet book that has squares, triangles, etc. I'm wondering if it is possible to crochet around other shapes to make bags or other items or would it just not work?

You can crochet any shape you want and make a bag out of it. Some shapes won't be very practical as bags, but it's fun to experiment.
