Walmart

I was in walmart yesterday and browsing through the pocketbook dept and was surprised to see how many crocheted handbags there were. I slowly walked around all the isles in the dept secretly feeling up the different bags. Alot of really cute, big beach bag types made with some type of straw with beautiful satin linings. I was so tempted to just buy one but thought it would be more fun if I could aspire to make my very own. I don't know if it's just me but I have been seeing alot of really nice looking crochet wearables popping back up on the scene these days. I keep telling my girlfriends....see it's coming back!!! They think I am only having these crochet sightings because I crochet and am actually looking for it. What do you all think?

I think that being crocheters ourselves might have something to do with it.
We were at a rally last monday and I noticed one lady had a crocheted scarf! I think it was fun fur. (Yes it was outside, and cold)

I have been noticing a lot more crocheted items, especially handbags and in the winter, scarves. This past fall I saw several beautiful scarves at Target, but once I saw they were crocheted, I couldn't bring myself to buy one. I just knew that if I really wanted one like it, I could make it myself. :)
