Hi all,
Well, I'm new and figured I might as well get some of my pics up. :)
I made this for my best friend and her new husband a couple of months ago. I got the pattern from a leaflet about doing your name in filet (sorry, I'm at work and don't have the book in front of me). I really did block it before taking the picture, but I also travelled for 45 minutes with it folded (lightly I thought) in the car with me. Oh well. Anyway, here it is:

Thanks Stacey,
It's really not that hard. I started by finding a pattern that was small and square. It's really just double crochets and chains. That's all there is. :) Give it a try, I'm sure you can do it!

Wow, Tracie! :clap It's so beautiful and elegant! :manyheart It looks so dainty! What size thread did you use for it?

Thanks jaclim,
I used size 10. I bought one of the big balls of it and still have a ton of it left over!

Lovely work, and a beautiful gift
The pattern is from the Leisure Arts leaflet Your Name and More in Filet Crochet (http://www.maggiescrochet.com/pages/Leaflets/Leisure_Arts/LA_3110_your_name_filet_main.htm)

Thank you! Yes, see, I knew someone would remember the title. I knew it had "Your name" in it, but couldn't remember the rest. I didn't want to screw it up. :)
I'd love to make the table runner, but the wallhanging took way more patience than I ever thought I had. Good thing it was for my best friend!

Wow. I am utterly speechless! I have always wanted to learn how to do that but low self esteem always gets in my way. I have a pattern to do it but the graph didn't print out all the way and I don't have a printer at home but I figured out how to do the letter I needed. I wanted to crochet a wall hanging that says: SARAH JOY for my dd and frame it. But I lack the courage. You did an excellent job! Thank you for sharing that with us!:hug

Hi Melannie,
Not sure if you've seen this site before or not, but once you enter whatever you want written in graph form, it generates the lettering for you. Only problem with it, there's no choice in the font. Check it out, it just might be something you like:

I was going to post about this. The font, especially in capital letters, is quite nice. I printed out my DD's name and I also would really like to crochet from this pattern. I know I need to do some multiplication in order to set up the pattern but am not sure how to go about it.
Thanks for any help!

Very nice! I did a wall hanging a while ago, but I cannot find a rod to hang it on! :( Have you found one? I've looked in quite a few stores. I don't really want to have to order it online and pay shipping, lol...

Thanks! My dad had a hanging kit that had a rod and finials and he stained that for me. So it hangs loose from the loops at the top.

My dad had one. I think he got it at Home Depot (his toy store). It was in a kit that had the pole and finials and the hanging rods for it. I was going to use a dowel and some ends from the wood section in the craft store. Hope you can find one!

How many hours did it take you to make it, Tracie?
It took me about 3 weeks, and I worked on it at work (I'm lucky in that) for about 6 hours a day 2 days a week and then at home for 2-3 at a time. I know I didn't work on it every day as I was in the middle of about 3 other projects at the time (as usual).

We don't have a Home Depot here, but I guess I should go check out Lowe's and Menards. Hopefully I'll find something! Thanks :)
