I love this top, but for the life of me, I can't figure out what stitch is used in the body of this piece (http://store.nordstrom.com/popup/product/largerview.asp?display=largerview&stylenum=156670&styleid=2867109&layout=&styleimage=156670.jpg&stylename=Betty%20Sung%20Crochet%20Sweater) (Betty Sung Crochet Sweater (http://store.nordstrom.com/product/product.asp?styleid=2867109&category=2376776%7E2374327%7E2374334%7E2377634)).

Any ideas?

It looks to me like a 4-dc repeat, where the final dc is worked crossways:
skip one st, 3 dc in next 3 sts, 1 dc in first skipped st. I have an East German book that gives several patterns, and this look like one of them without magnifying it.

I agree...the fisherman afghan I just finished has similar stitches. They're actually fun to do. :):clap

Thanks, I'll give it a try.

I really need to not be so timid when trying to figure out a stitch. Insted of desconstructing it, I just try to find it in the Crochet Stitch Bible / Encyclopedia of Crochet.
