Ladies, this is what happens when you tell a 9 yr old boy they can pick out whatever colors they want I did put my foot down and veto the traffic cone orange.
Maggie my Chiengora Retriever is the lovely spokesmodel.

What's wrong with the colors? :thinking1 It turned out great!! It looks similar to the one I made my dad a few years back...around the same colors except I DID put a bit of the bright orange. He's a hunter...so it had to have the orange. Also made him two Deer pillows to match, lol
I bet your son loves it!

Dare I say the dog is cuter than the afghan?! No, really, the afghan is nice too, but the golden retriever is precious! :))

Holly it looks great =) Love how your dog is posing for the picture too lol.
You think your son chose some odd colors? Mine has chosen bright red, dark green and christmas-y green, and navy blue. All his favorite colors.... together.... in one ghan.... should be interesting lol.

OMG I LOVE your photo!! Your dog just "fits"! Anyways, about your ghan lol, I think the colors are great and you put them in an order that makes it work very well!! I think the orange would have been too much - good call!

Maybe the colors aren't showing up the same on the computer as they are in real life. But I really like the the color combination. Orange might have been too much LOL.

Your picture looks like it is right out of a magazine!
Beautiful afghan! :))
Good call on the orange Mom, I don't think it would have worked either. While I was flipping through the channels today I saw a picture of a little boy who had on a bright orange sweater with a multi colored stripe in the middle that his Grandma had made for him,,,,,it was on the Ellen show. It reminded me of you and how your son wanted orange in his afghan. :)

Thanks everyone!!!
The colors are growing on me. When I was looking at the skeins all together I didn't have a clue how to get them to play nicely <img border=0 src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/hee.gif" />
The best part was it was so easy, totally a veg in front of the tv project <img border=0 src="http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/cutewink.gif" />
Maggie is the sweetest dog in the world. We got her from a Golden Retriever rescue group (yes, a plug there!) when she was 1 yr old, she's almost 10 now.
