I gave these away for Christmas, but just finally got pics of them.
This grey throw is for my hunny's mom, made out of LB wool-ease with my ToTC J hook. It's about 4ft square, consisting of alternate spike sc with a crab stitch border. It took forever!, but is very dense and warm.

And this blue blanket is a monster, turned out to fully cover a queen size bed, although the pic is not great. For hunny's brother and his girlfriend, made out of RH and Walmart Mainstays with a 9mm hook. My first experience with ripples.

Thanks all for the praise, excuse me while I bask a moment...
Anywho, as requested a pic of detail, although blurry you can get a feel for the texture, it reminded me of thermal underwear! This stitch is very basic and is the same one used in for square #29 of the 63 sq. afghan booklet. (which has a much better pic)

I used the directions from the Stitch Bible on pg. 154 to make the body of the throw. My foundation chain was 116, then one round of sc followed by one round of rsc for the edge.
