Ok everyone. I need your help. This is one of the sweaters that I'm going to submit to be published. I need your help in comming up with a name for it. I've been naming each item, but this one has me stumped. My good friend, "Ms Skinny Minny" modeled it for me. You can't tell by the photo, but the front and back pieces are joined along the shoulder and upper arms by circles, so it gapes open. This is the link to the photo if it doesn't show.

I like that, "Fit to be tied!" and even more I love the design, the stitch, and the colors. What did you use as your MC? It's so nice to see people designing modern crochet garments!

"Fit To Be Tied", I like that. That's cute. Thanks for your help everyone. I used LB Lanscapes "Rose Garden". I wanted something different from the other ponchos and shrugs, so I went a bit on the far side. I wasn't sure about it at first, but it grew on me. I like it now. I was thinking about crocheting a skirt to go with it, but it looks great with jeans. Now, I'm thinking a hat. I think that a hat would accent it nicely. I've gotta get some more yarn. hmmm. Gotta go shopping. "I've been through the mall with a purse with no name." la dee da dee dum.

How 'bout "Skinny Minny" ? lolKari, that would be funny. Can you believe my friend thinks that she has a gut hanging out? I'd like to know WHERE??? I'm torturing the poor girl, because she visited this thread to see the photo, and she won't say a thing. LOL. I'm cruel. She's a great sport, though. Thanks Ms Skinny Minny!!

Gosh, when will that pattern be available? Or will it? I can't believe all the designing that goes on around here, all I can do is follow a pattern. I have no visuals on stuff! :think
What about "Fit 2 B Tied"? Would that infringe?

Fit To Be Tied was so good...but I was wondering if I had heard it somewhere!
I'm still drawing a blank... usually I can think of all sorts of things (granted, not necessarily brilliant things, but at least they would be ideas).

You all are comming up with some great ones. I agree. We need another name if someone already has that. That was such a great one, too. I like all the suggestions. It's going to be a hard one to pick.
Tepper, I've been wanting to tell you that I :manyheart your hats. I started making your Newsboy Hat in black, but ran out of yarn. I found some pink yarn and did another one, but without the brim and a flower added. I'm working on a matching purse and scarf, so I want to wait to show the pics until they are all done. I think that pattern is WONDERFUL! I'm serious. I never made a hat before, but I'm totally in love with that one. You need get that pattern published.

Thanks TXyarnelf, sallymander, Maria, Jen, Ashleigh and Tepper for your compliments.
Jen, that is a poncho that I just finished. It is also part of this group. It took me forever and a day to finish that one.
I have no idea when this one will be published, or will even get accepted. I emailed the photos in today to the publisher, so we'll see. It usually takes about 9 months for a leaflet to go through the whole process before it's put on the shelves. I've been crocheting just about my whole life, so I've been at it a long time. I didn't start making my own patterns until about 6 years ago. Now, it feels weird when I do follow a pattern.
So far, we have "All Wrapped Up", "Fit 2 B Tied", "Tied To A Dream", "Why Knot?", and "She Shrugged". I also thought of "Knot a Shrug". Keep it comming, everybody. You all are doing great. Thanks for all the help with this!! I'm big on naming my stuff, and you all are so great at it.

I was going to say "Fit To Be Tied" was already being used but TepperWear beat me to it. What kind of yarn did you use? Maybe you could use the type of yarn in the name? How about "All Tied Up" or just "Tied Up"?

The only thing I can think up is really lame: "Bow to Greatness Shrug". Now you can either take that as bow, definition: bending at the knees or curtseying, or bow, definition: tied ribbon/fabric/crochet.
Don't worry, I'm trying to think of something better...I liked all of the other suggestions...it's too bad Fit to Be Tied is out.

Well you mentioned the shoulders had circles...
Circle Shoulder Shrug?
(Say that five times fast!)
That's kind of plain though...I don't know...

I can't think about a name, but I was thinking the tails could be wrapped around the waist for a more modern look... So "all wrapped up" has my vote!
...
"why knot" is nice too!

It looks like All Wrapped Up is winning, so far. I'm comming up with some good names, but not for a shrug. My favorite is "Hanging By a Thread". That would be more for thread crochet. Maybe that would be good for the bathing suit leaflet that I already submitted. LOL. Oops. Too late.
The yarn I'm using is (pauses to look in folder) LBs Landscapes "Rose Garden" and Patons Grace "Sky".

I came up with "Knot Me Up". Say that out loud. HAHAHA. I don't think so.

I'm glad you like it. I usually try the yarn name in naming of projects first. For one, it helps me to remember what yarn I used later on. :rofl Your yarn just happened to have 2 great names to work with.

What a gorgeous shrug!
What a shame that "Fit to Be Tied" is already used. :cry
Is "Ring Around the Rosey" too corny or cutesy?? :D
The only others that come to mind are "Saturn's Rings", "Celestial Rings," and "Celestial Circles." I think I'm partial to the last one of the three.

Wow. Everyone came up with some GREAT names. It's really hard to choose one. "All Wrapped Up" got the most votes. I liked ALL of them, but I really liked "Why Knot?". I like having that double meaning.
Buuuuut, I decided to go with "Rose Garden In the Sky", because it gives the shrug an elegant feeling. It really needs that, too. LOL. It also goes with the names of the other items that will (hopefully) be in the book. "Snowflake Shrug", "Pleasing Pink Ponchette", "Pineapple Punch", "Misty Rose Ponchette", and "60's Retro Hooded Shawl". See? It goes better with those names. I want to thank everyone for their help in naming this "thingie". I was totally stumped on what name to give it. You ALL came up with some wonderful names! Thanks a bunch!!
