Hi, I am looking for Symbol Crochet patterns. I like Butterflies and flowers. I like doilies, ponchos, vests and anything unusual.
Thanks

"Symbol" sorrry I do not know what that means in crochet terms. There are many sites for free patterns for butterlies flowers and much more. Help us to help you, I see you are new to this site, once we understand the question, just watch at the amount of responses you will get, the people here are fantastic.

Symbol Crochet is the term for the type of pattern. The pattern uses mostly symbols in picture form versus instructions by rows with crochet terms such as sc, dc, tc etc. Each stitch has a symbol and the symbols are assembled to look just like the finished product; similar to filet crochet grids only the pattern is shaped like the finished product (except for repeated sections). The Magazine Crochet Monthly has these type of patterns but I cannot find this magazine any more. I have trouble reading and understanding regular instructions (I am more "visual" oriented). Symbol Crochet patterns are wonderful for me and they are so much easier to follow.

Linda, I've tried this site several times and I never get the complete diagram. Is there a trick to it?
