I haven't been able to find a pattern to either knit or crochet my six year old daughter a knee-length cardigan. I'm not even sure if that's what it's called, but it's one of those sweaters that has a collar, long sleeves, buttons down the front and has the belt to tie it if you want. She's wanting it to wear to school and church, but she wants me to make it and I know I can. I just need a pattern! Any help is appreciated!
TIA!

I believe what you are looking for is a "duster" jacket. I've seen quite a few patterns out there on the web and for purchase for adults, but never one for a child. Depending on how old your daughter is, you may be able to downsize an adult one, however if your daughter is pre-teen or younger, I would probably find a cardigan pattern she liked and then just extend the front and back lengths to her knees. Could still do buttons, or just omit the button holes and add a couple of straps for a sc belt.
