Baaaaah humbug! I am very frustrated - - it's too big, I'm not sure I'm doing the picots correctly, and the middle is all messy. :eek I just couldn't seem to get my stitches even this time for some reason. I've improved a bit since the first one but I guess I'm too much of a perfectionist because I'm just not happy with it!! I guess I should be happy that my connecting stitches don't show, that's something ...

:dance I think you are doing great. You should have seen some of my first attempts. :heehee Luckily you are all spared that. It just takes practice to get the nice even stitches you want. :tup

Looks great in the pic!! But I know what you mean - a doily I attempted looked uneven to me (due to my uneven crocheting :P ). I need more practice using thread - yarn hides more - lol! :D

It looks good! you might be able to block some of the stitch wonkiness out of it, too, you know.

And your picots look fine! :)

Very nicely done.
Doilies just take pratice, pratice, pratice, to get the stiches to look all the same....Dont be so hard on your self. I have to hold my thread different than yarn, :hookwrapped around my pinky finger to keep it tight and it helps keep the stiches looking the same and tight.
You took the time to make a hand made gift and it is beautiful!!!!:manyheart

I think it's beautiful! I don't notice anything wrong with it. I hate picots so much. I always do the ch3, then sc in the top of the last stitch...I just can't do picots right and have been known to skip them all together!!!

Picots are not my favorite either, but they really complete the doily. Mine never look right to me either, but I think it's because I'm too close. Things look much better when blocked.

BTW, your doily looks great!
