Had an article in their September? issue on crochet. :cheer
Adding trim to blankets, pillowcases and placemats with Lion Brand Suede yarn!
The items were really very nice looking and simple.
It directed you to LionBrand.com if you didn't know how to crochet.
I love Real Simple!!!! Great all around magazine.

See, there IS hope for our craft! It's a nice change to see more and more crochet in fashion and home decor in the stores!! :yay

Happy Thursday :manyheart

I was thinking the same thing as Natalie..."how'd I miss that?!" I adore Real Simple and devour every issue almost immediately. Cristin, got a page number?

Shoot, Ladies -- I don't have it here with me at work....let me do a little digging.
I KNOW I saw it!!! LOL

Hmmmm :think I can't find it online either................
I might have to make you wait until Monday....my home PC is giving me ALL sorts of problems. I think the kids are bringing viruses or something in when they download songs and such?? It's SUPER slow, but plenty of memory available... :think

Anyway, i'll try to find it this weekend for you--and I'll keep you posted.

MAYBE it was in my OTHER magazine?????? Sorry for the misinformation and spotty memory, I promise I'll verify where it was!! Sorry ladies. :blush

Yes, I found it. Yes, it was in a different magazine. Yes, I feel like a big ol' loser steering you all in the WRONG direction! :blush Sorry girls!

The article is in "All You" -- I believe it's only available at WalMart?? I want to say it's page 175, but again I forgot the magazine to reference...and I don't want to look like a fool again, so if it's not page 175 -- just know it IS All You magazine -- that much I do know. LOL
That is my 2nd favorite - it's also great all-around magazine. I assumed it was Real Simple because it is such a great magazine! :blush There I go assuming again! ;)

The projects they show are very elegant and beautiful, but great for everyday life, too.
Sorry for the confusion, and thank you for your patience with me! :hug

I guess I'm the only one who has not heard of the Real Simple Magazine. Been looking for it...no success. Could someone please enlighten me as to its contents? Thanks much.

I'd describe it as a Martha Stewart Living type mag for people who have real lives and better things to do than making 17 course meals. [Nothing against Martha, her mag, or 17 course meals] It's got a little bit of fashion, cooking, homecare, shopping, finance etc. all rolled up into one aesthetically pleasing package. The title clues you in to the fact that the goal of the mag is simplicity... Maybe like a Good Housekeeping for the modern set?

Here's a link to their homepage. (http://www.realsimple.com/realsimple/homepage/flash/0,23022,,00.shtml)

The thing I don't like about Real Simple is that it's more "buy this creative stuff" than "make this creative stuff." It does always have nice pictures and great ideas. I just wish it was more DIY.

Have you been able to find ReadyMade (http://readymademag.com/)? That's a great DIY mag!

My mom's friend told us about Real Simple and so I looked at an issue in the airport and learned something about which types of plastic wrap were better. :)
