My sister and I are looking for patterns for a quick and easy to make children's toy. We're looking to make about a dozen for a charity that will send them to a school in Trinidad (I guess they would be elementary school age). Does anyone have a favorite pattern that isn't too complicated?

I have not done these but they don't seem to be overly difficult:)

I am in the process of making a website that archives it here (http://www.**********************/cr). It's by no means finished, but it'll give you a little bit of a start.

Thanks, everyone. I should have mentioned that I had already searched all the usual free pattern sites. What I was hoping was that someone could give me a heads-up on which of those patterns would be the easiest and quickest (not too much embroidering of features, etc.) for not-so-advanced crocheters.
Jen, your website is a great idea. That round bear pillow is adorable. I'm going to mail the link to my sister to see what she likes.

Have you tried looking on the Bernat site? I haven't really studied the patterns, but I saw a duck and a teddy bear on free baby patterns section. The duck looks esepcailly easy, just being basically the shape of the duck and then embroidering the eyes and adding a ribbon. Maybe you could do something like that but make it bigger for whatever age group you need it for.

I decided to make the site when I went in search of stuffed animal patterns and couldn't find a decent links site for a large amount of them, so people like us could find things easily! :)

I make toys for charity all the time. There are not many simple toy patterns. Both boys and girls seem to love bags so I usually try to make a simple bag and fill it with either small crocheted items (listed below) or stickers, crayons, etc., that I can buy inexpensively. Dot's Little Ditty Bag is one of the best patterns to come along in a while for this purpose.

Thanks, CraftyShannon and EugeneClarence. I'll look into those links as well. I like the idea of a bag to fill with small items. I have a lot of patterns for bags i could choose from.
