I want to do a 50th anniversary afghan for my :grandma:grandpa in-laws - any suggestions? Is golden yarn too "obvious"? They're "flop on the couch" kind of people, so I'd like to make something useful and not just celebratory, know what I mean? :)

Thanks in advance for any suggestions you might have!!!!!!!! :clap

How about a Double Wedding Ring Afghan?

What about a wrap up afghan/snuggly. Its sort of like a HUGE poncho for two except that you have arm holes so that you can pick things up like champaigne and wine - while still cuddling.

How about a graph one with their anniversay date on it?
Or a ripple/granny/almost anything in the wedding colors?

I'm working on a few 50th Anniversary projects for my husband's grandparents. I am doing a scrapbook for them of letters from family and friends; a handcolored photo of them at their wedding with a filet crochet mat; I'm also make Oma a Rose shawl from Woman's Day magazine and Opa will get fuzzy slippers. My sister in law is making a denim quilt for everyone to sign at their Anniversary party.

I think any afghan would be appreciated by your family. A golden and Aran afghan would be my choice :) Simple, yet elegant. Try crochetpatterncentral.com
