Does anyone know where I can find a pattern for a round baby blanket? There is a lady in our "crochet for charity" group that is wanting to make some. She has made several of the star blankets and is wanting something easier and that would make up quicker.
We suggested she use the basic chemo hat pattern and just keep increase each round until she got it the size she wanted, but she said she would prefer to have an actual pattern to work from.
Any help would be appreciated.:ty

HI! I made this blanket http://hometown.aol.com/lffunt/skipstone.htm in worsted weight, and it was a beauty. I bet that baby weight yarn would make a very nice blanket, and you could always cut down the last few rows if you needed to.

When I made my round baby blanket, I just did regular increases to keep it circular; I didn't use a pattern. If she can crochet a hat, she can definitely crochet a round baby blanket. I used Lion Heart Pound of Love yarn (which is a pretty fluffy sport weight) in two different colors, an M hook, and HDCs. I switched colors I think every two or three rounds to make stripes. Very simple. I honestly think using a pattern would just have confused things.
I can't post a picture here because it's too big, but if you want, you can check out the finished project here (http://67.18.219.83/image_hosting/web_pages/Sabra/round_blanket_finished.JPG) just to give you an idea (that's my 19-month-old under the blanket, just to give you an idea of the size of it, & there was enough yarn left over I could have easily made another blanket; I think I paid about $6 for each skein of yarn).
(If you'd like, I could easily write up a pattern for it for you to give to her, just let me know.)

Here on this site is the "round ripple blanket, find it under patterns and Help section, it is in 2 places, note the pattern is incorrect, so when you see it, then read on down to find the correction. It is very very simple and you can use any kind of yarn you want, even though some say no, (wrong) you can change colors anytime also, I made a 24" round in one day. Good luck
