So most of you know that I have a new addition, Little Anna Lee, and I would love to make her first halloween costume. I was thinking of a little bunny. I have looked for halloween patterns and just cant find em so this will be my first venture away from patterns. A hat with big floppy ears shouldent be to hard to find, although any direction would be apreciated. II would like ot do some kind of one piece suite with a round white belly, although I have no idea how to make a diferent colored circle on something, and some booties with brown embelishments for the toes. Oh, and we cant forget the little bunny butt! IF you have any other ideas or pictures to share please do. I need direction ladies and gents, Iknow you wont let me down!!!:hook

Are you looking for something completely crocheted? We made a bear for my son's first halloween out of a terricloth sleeper with the feet. I dyed it brown and made a had with ears. For the tummy - I sewed on fake fur in an oval.
Not sure if this is the type of thing you are looking for - but it really did come out cute.

:cry I dont know how to sew! But how I wish I did, I will learn someday though. But you did give me an idea, What If I crocheted the jumper and found some really fuzy white meterial, cut out a circle and hand sewed it on? I think I could do that. Hou do you think that would look?

you culd do that. Or use the "No Sew method" - the hot glue gun - works wonders :)

I think that Lion Brand had a bunny or bear outfit. I looked but I could not find it maybe someone here knows what I'm talking about, it is a one piece, long sleeves and a hood with ears on it. I'll keep looking.:) :)

My ideas are
1. a chili pepper (red crocheted gown with a green collar, green pointy hat)
2. a strawberry (red crocheted gown with button seeds, and a strawberry hat..I made one for my daughter so time ago and it was too cute).
3. An angel (white crocheted outfit and crocheted wings)
4. Hershey kiss (gray crocheted outfit, gray pointy hat...I do have a crochet book with an actual hershey kiss hat...and you can make the little paper thing out of felt so it will be soft).

At epatternscentral.com (http://www.epatternscentral.com) they have a bunny costume pattern for a baby doll, that could probably be enlarged just by using a larger hook. Look under Crochet Patterns on page 30.

Very cute hats, I like that they tie on so they will not fall off.

for the different pattern part for the tummy, you could crochet a separate piece, and whip stitch it on or whatever.......

Good Idea!! What kind of yarn would yall suggest? I was thinking something like baby clouds for the body, something more solid for the inside of the ears like simply soft and something fuzzy for the belly. Anyone know of a suite that I could use for the body? I am not good enugh ye tto free hand it.

You probably don't want (or need) to buy a book, but I know Crochet Yearbook, Vol. 2 (which I've only seen at Michael's, oddly enough) has a pattern for a bunny suit. Also, the book Too Cute Crochet for Babies and Toddlers is filled with hats and booties that will make excellent costumes; I'm planning to make the cow set for the tummy monster. ;)
