Hey guys I have a question I was trying to make this shrug using the shrug schematics that I found on this forum I started with this did my chain stitch,chain one extra ,turn ,insert in stitch yarn over pull through one ,then yarn over pull through one then yarn over pull through last one .My question is waht is the name for that stitch and second as I went along it begain to get wider why didnit it say even or how can i get it to stay even???:eek

The stich you made is called the extended sc. You can extend any stitch by pulling thru one loop before completing the stitch as normal, and this will add extra height to your rows. I like to use esc a lot because I'm not a very big fan of hdc or dc.

My guess is that the reason your work is getting wider is because your tension isn't even... or you made the staring chain pretty tight. Or you could be adding stitches.

oh that waht its called because i kept looking at the treple stitch going no thats not it ok so i know the name know and i think I added as i went along you wanna know something thats funny i basically taught myself of to crochet and i thought that i must have designed that stitch :loco isnt that silly thanks

actually funny :rofl you should say that because i thought i had done the same thing as i did not see it as a stitch :hook then one day i found the extended sc :) and thought :scraching oh it does exist after all. :woo :yes i just did it not knowing it was an actual stitch just like you did. :sofunny one day we may invent our own stitch.
