Anyone got patterns for a P or Q hook afghan that works fast that uses 2-3 strands of yarn. My son is in desperate need of a bedspread so i thought I would make him one....fast!

Its for a double/full size bed.

Thanks for any suggestions!

i am a big fan of the 5 and a half hour throw on the lionbrand website.. its easy and looks nice when finished and very easy to adjust the size

Its not free, but Leisure Arts has one of those small books that cost like $3.50 at Walmart or Michaels that is just for Q-Hook afghans.

I totally love that book! :manyheart

Besides that, as far as free goes, you could always just do a double crochet afghan with a spike stitch and a Q-hook....I do that a lot and they turn out great

The largest hook I have is a P, if I use Red heart super saver would I have to hold 2 strands togeather?

Do you have any links to a good tutorial for the spike stitch?

Here is a good link

I have used a P hook for FOUR strands of yarn lol so you should have no problem with 2! :hook

Hope that helps!

I am using 3 strands, two varigated one matching solid and it's really coming out nice using a P hook. I'm just doing a simple afghan for warmth, letting the colors make the design. I chained to the width I wanted, then started doing my favorite stitch, in this case hdc. It is coming out fairly solid, and should be nice and warm this winter.
