I had some sterling silver 22g wire for some reason (I bought it years ago and don't remember why) and some quartz chip beads lying around. Figured I might as well try some crocheting with wire. I just love the way this turned out!:

oooooh pretty! you could make them in all sorts of stones, amythest would be gorgeous =) I love the clear quartz.... ooh amethyst and quartz... lol ok I'll shut up now.

Lynlee! its awesome! Oh how I wish I can get some nice silver wire!! I am sure we must be able to get it here in India(where almost everybody is into jewellry!!!) Just don't know where to begin!!(hmm should I not be trying google? ;)) Well off to surf!!

Wow, nice job, the bracelet is beautiful :hook I haven't tried wire crochet yet. Does the hook have to be special or will any hook do??I have done spool knitting with silver wire, it turned out pretty good!

I had found a couple steel hooks on clearance at Joann's and bought them. 2 were the same size and I decided that since I didn't need 2 of the same size that I could tear one up using wire. It wasn't to gauge since the wire was pretty stiff, but I like the end result!
I think the main rule I've read is to use hooks you don't plan to use with yarn (and definately don't use wood)
