That's truly gorgeous and now I want one...

I am making (or supposed to be) making my daughter one with that Incredible (incredibly difficult for a newbie) yarn from Lion Brand. It looks like the same process as yours I think. One large rectangle sewn up the side? It was hard for me to visualize what the end product would be until I saw yours.

yes Stacy, the general pattern I used it the one you are using---incredible ribbon yarn.
EXCEPT Mine is 20" wide and 59" long. One long rectangle add fringe wherever you want. :)

Several of my friends have tried it using yarn other than the Incredible yarn and found that the 16" wide it calls for is not wide enough. Are you making yours 16" wide or another width?

I am making it the 16" but my daughter's only 10 so I need it to be smaller. I was thinking it looked kinda short for an adult pattern, thought maybe I was supposed to stretch it when I was finished. I can't get the hang of the ribbon though. I've only just learned to crochet and tried to attempt it too soon I think. I can never get the same number of stitches in each row, lol. I put it aside weeks ago. Now that I've got a little more experience (have been crocheting little projects like a madwoman) I'm going to take it out, frog the whole thing and try again.

Very gorgeous poncho Barbara!

I love the color and totally love TLC Amore... I actually have some skeins of that color as well as the gold color. I figure I'd try the Celebrity Shawl in the yellow and the poncho you did in the red... if you don't mind me copying :hug

Great minds think alike! I just finished one in red Amore! People have stopped me all weekend and asked me about it! They keep asking to touch it. I did a ton of fringe on it al the way around. What a PIA! but totally worth it! It's SO SOFT!!!:sheep
I want to sleep in it!
The red is such a beautiful color of red the only one I've found that I like. Makes me feel very festive!::*ctree :*chsanta
