Herrschners' Yarn Packages

I was looking at the Herrschners Catalog and I found that they sell a 32 oz. or more package of yarn (assorted colors and styles). Is anybody familiar with this package? Has anybody bought it? How is the quality of the yarns? Is it worth it? Are all skeins different?

I bought a couple of these back when i was getting my stash up. Theyarn quality was great. I got some Bernat Handicrafter cotton, 4 or 5 skeins i think, in different colors. Also was some Holiday Yarn, a blue/silver and a mauve/silver. Oh, and some white sayelle and cream sayelle. Since I ordered 3 packages, the same yarn was in each package so I got 3 of everything which was helpful. The free pattern was the same in all of them though :( I guess if you order at different times the yarn and pattern would be different.

Each package costs $11.97 (+ S&H depending on how much you spend on the purchase).

I was tickled with what I got. Hubby ordered me four boxes total, two of sport and two of worsted. I got a Lot of Yarn =) Nice yarns, great colors, though I did get the same pattern in each box like Trish said. That's ok though, I got great yarns =)

I'd definately order it again, it's a great way to enhance your stash and for me, it was a good way to get my hands on brands I haven't tried yet due to being in Germany.

Now I'm confused! :think I was looking at the catalog again and saw that it says worsted OR sport weight yarn packages but it only gives one catalog item number. Do you really choose for worsted or sport weight packages, is it mixed (both weights) or just random (you get whatever they choose)?

I received a box today it contained 9 three ounce skeins of navy caron simply soft and 2 six ounce skeins of kelly green also caron simply soft. And a cool pattern for a stole. It was a gift I had no hand in the ordering so i dont know if there was a sw or ww chose. But none the less.....I am happy with my box of yarn. :manyheart
