Poncho (picture!)

Finally! :eek Deb has a picture!

Here's the poncho (and a little purse) I made for my niece, Taralee.

I had already started the poncho when we found this dress. She had NO idea why I was so insistant that we buy it for the cruise... when she already had some perfectly GREAT dresses (her words!). On formal night I had her wear this dress. We did her hair, then I pulled the poncho AND purse from my suitcase.

:lol She actually squealed :pig with delight!

I used Red Heart Super Saver yarn in black. Also Caron's Jewel Box yarn in Tiger Eye. The poncho is fashioned after a pattern that can be found at soysilk.com.

I have four nieces. Two that are definitely NOT poncho girls (read that: tomboys) and one that LOVES them (she's the one in the picture) and one that is under a year old. The baby WILL be getting a poncho for Christmas (I am on a mission! I whisper *girly girl* comments in her ears whenever I can... she WILL like Barbies and dressing up if I can help it!). :D!

Omigosh that is darling! The colors are great! I feel better making my niece a black poncho (that's the color she wants) as I thought it was too old for her? But alas.. I guess thats the going rage in colors these days for gurlz:))
