These are both beautiful afghans!! Thank you for sharing them, some day I'd like to try a lacy pattern like that, but I'll get a little more experience first. Lovely!

Kelly, I think the lacy patterns are easier and they are much quicker. The hardest part was learning to read patterns for me, but once I learned....WOW! There are still some patterns I can't read....I think it depends on the author. That's why I loved finding Dot's blog and this board for the petal pattern! :D

The on the roll afghan is at the Elegant Crochet site.....I think it's called a rose or something.......any way check out that site......I love her stuff! I did some plain squares and then just added a ruffled edge....it's one of my favorites....I'm keeping it! I never keep anything for myself!
The white one is from Terry Kimball (sp) out of one of her books.
The blue one is from a pamphlet I bought by Red Heart (the 97 cent ones you pick up at Wal-Mart).
Thank you all! :)h

I think it definitely depends on the author. I figured out the patterns ok, had to ask my mom a few times what things meant... but even she has trouble figuring out some of the ones I have! Sometimes it takes a few times reading it and testing it out on a smaller scale to figure out what's being said. And lacy patterns do go by really fast once you figure them out! :)

They are beautiful afghans. I'm looking for a pattern from the crochet, May 2008 magazine for the Noah's Ark afghan. I want to make it for my new great grandson.
