HELP ME!!...ripple stitch (chevron)

hi...
i've been asked (by my daughter) to make her doll a matinee/angel coat for her doll, and she has requested that i use the 'ripple' or 'chevron' pattern that i have, but it doesn't say how to increase within it keeping the pattern correct. :think

I have made this pattern a few times and it does tell you when to increase

Dc in 3rd ch from hook; dc in next 6 ch, 3 dc in next ch, dc in next 6 ch; *work 3 st dec in next 3 ch, dc in next 6 ch, 3 dc in next ch, dc in next 6 ch; Repeat from * across. End by working 2 st dec in last 2 ch. Ch 2 and turn.

this is your increase (3 dc in one stitch)

It took me a few times restarting to get the pattern. Does this help?

no, i asked the question wrong....:angry DOH!!

what i mean is that i'm gonna be makin' somthin' else, but useing this type of stitch. on the garment that i'll be makin' i'll be startin' at the neck with a yoke. increasing the sts in between the inc's & dec's. i can see that there are 6 sts between dec's & inc's on this pattern, but on the garment i'll probably be startin' with just 1 or 2 ....

my problem is ... where do i place the increase's to make the pattern fan out?:think
