I've seen kids Knit kits before but I was really happy and surprised to see this crochet kit being sold in the Highlights catalog.

I wish I'd had something like this when I was a kid. My mom tried to teach me to crochet, but super-thin thread and a tiny steel crochet hook just discouraged me. Easy directions and colourful yarn would have helped a lot!

Toys R Us also has a kit called Learn to Crochet or something similar for $9.99. I got one for my 7 year old neice for Christmas.
