I've just finished setting up a paypal account and shopping cart to sell patterns on my blog, (go see here (http://toomanyhooks.mycrochetblog.com/?page_id=55)!) and lemme tell you - it took work.
For anyone who is looking to sell patterns online, let me make things easier for you.
First you need a website or a blog, you can get those for free all sorts of places. Mine is provided free through http://mycrochetblog.com/
Step 1: Go get a Premium Paypal account. It's free, they just take, like 3% plus 30 cents per sale. (https://www.paypal.com/)
Step 2: Get a Payloadz account (http://www.payloadz.com/) and read the user manual (http://www.payloadz.com/docs/PayLoadz-Sell_Digital_Goods.pdf), that will keep you from making a lot of the frustrating mistakes that I did. Payloadz automatically delivers electronic products like patterns when you sell with Paypal.
Step 3: Upload your pattern to Payloadz as per their instructions - I made mine pdf files, using the free PDFmaker from http://www.primopdf.com/
Step 4: Insert the code into your website.
That's basically all you need to do, more detail on the specifics is given when you set up the accounts. For anyone who wants to do this - good luck. It was a bit tricky.
