well... i tried, but didn't expect this freeform tank top to stretch quite as much as it did... now it's way too big but i think i'll make it into a sweater:

Yarn is Reynolds Utopia... color is a number, but i forgot it... :bang
it's VERY soft, though :cloud9

That's really cute, even if it is too big. I hope you can make it into something that's workable for you. :)

how about washing it in hot water to shrink it.. put it in a pillowcase,,

that may work - washing it in hot water - but i didn't want to ruin the yarn. i figured since it hangs nicely and it's really too big, i'd just make it into a comfy sweater.
I didn't use a pattern. I used SC vertically so i could add the straps without too much trouble. The design down the middle of the back is double crochet - i guess it's kind of a filet stitch, but just for one row.
Here it is up close:

Thanks Ladywyntir now that you explained it I can see it
:blush It's really pretty even if it's too big.I have a hard time pulling something out just to make the same thing over agian because the fit didn't work, so I understand.

I could donate it... if you like, but i think i'd have to make it a little longer. For proportions to be consistent... it would be middrift, i think.
If you would like to make your own alterations, send me a message with an addy where i can send it! ^_^

Aw thank you all! :)h
I'll see if i can write up the actual pattern - i'm trying again in a blue yarn.
See My Blog - A Lady's Crochet (http://aladyscrochet.blogspot.com) for the latest updates and photos.
Mommies ROCK!
I'm not one yet, but my mom had 4 and i had to babysit...:grouphug (oldest) so i give her a lot of credit in that respect!
Bagpipes, if you want it, it's yours. I'll throw in the rest of the yarn and maybe an extra skein if you like. It gives me one more reason to go to The Yarn Connection :cloud9 - a store down the block from my job.
Let me know ^_^
