i crochet b/c it relaxes me, keeps me busy, and i get a sense of accomplishment when i finish something.

but there's only so many hats and scarves you can have!
i'm trying to use up all my acrylic. i was thinking of selling my things.

have you heard of this place?
www.etsy.com (http://www.etsy.com)

if you have, how successful have you been at selling your items?

do you sell your items on other sites?
which site do you think is more sucessful?

well check it out...

the commission fee is 3.5%...
and it's less than a dollar to list items for sale.

also! i think it just started, so listing and commission fees are free until november 1, 2005.

anyone else out there? what do you think of this?

i've heard mixed experiences from ebay....

I don't sell anything on ebay anymore, because I can't get the prices I want. People are looking for bargains there. At xmas I usually put up a few cheap things and use it as low cost advertising for my website.
If you go to craftster.org, there's a giant discussion of how people are doing with their etsy shops. You should check it out. I know people are getting sales.
It's extremely saturated with jewelry so I didn't bother even listing anything for the free period, but I think the site looks great, and I love that it is all handcrafted. I go there all the time to see the great crafts--there are many unique things.
I know there are crocheted items on the site, but I don't think it is oversaturated where you'd get lost.
If you decide to do it, make sure you advertise in some way. I'd try to have some really cheap and some really expensive items as well, so you show up both ways in the search engine, and not get lost in the middle.
Good luck!
