View Full Version : Mom's Crochet Sweater that almost was!

Here's my mom's sweater that I've been working on - It started as this (http://www.lionbrand.com/patterns/cim-zigZagJacket.html). I noticed once I had the back and sides made that there was no way it would fit - I called my sis - a non crocheter but good listener, she suggested I turn it into a wrap. So a Navajo wrap was born. It was definitely a labor of love and hate. (Love the colors - hate that I didn't gauge!) I think my mom will like it - its really soft, but oh so heavy - perfect for those Okla nights. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v439/lilhatshack/Completed%20Works/scarfswap091804005.jpg

It's lovely. :) Sometimes the best things come from an "oops". <img border=0 src="http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/veryhappy.gif" />

The dark brown is LB Wool Ease Chunky in Walnut- my favorite yarn in the world! The chenille is LB Thick & Quick in Peacock and Terracotta and the Multi - is LB Boucle - Hard Candy (I think that is new yarn and I love it too!)
Thanks for all your nice compliments - this is the best board!!! Have a great weekend everyone!

That's how the best designs are made, through creativity and you did a great job. Quick too!! I think this is just beautiful! You should write your design down.

The sweater that you originally set out to make is beautiful, but the wrap you ended up with is just GORGEOUS!
