All the hats I have made used the top-down approach.
I am looking for patterns from brim-up and/or the rectangle method with the sewn side.
Yes, I am familiar with Crochet Pattern Central:)
What I would like is patterns that YOU have made and was pleased with the result. (Adult sizes if possible)
Thank you so much:ty

I've made the "boyfriend hat" from Cozy Crochet, which is one done rectangle-style, several times. Really, really simple, and I adapt the basic pattern to fit from baby sizes on up.

I've also seen some vintage patterns worked brim to crown...but would be hard pressed to locate them... and I think the sun hat the in the old FC EKPC was done the same, with the floppy bit added on last.

I have made many hats and I have never seen one that starts from brim up. But for the rectangle type, that is easy enough to make using any stitch, also easy to make quick little swatch to see if you like it first. make first row ch length of hat from top to bottom, baby size about 7inch is normal, then start pattern st, one sc back and forth, or sc in back loop only, or one each, your choice go on and on, make it long enough once sew together to make head size. Bet I did not make any sense did I.

Oh, yes, you made sense:) Thank you. I guess, I just work with my own measurements, and adjust from there.
