Our landlord came over this weekend and cut down all the bushes along with a small tree that covered our kitchen window (why he did this is a mystery) so now I need to put up a curtain in the kitchen window... I have only been able to find 4 patterns for curtains and all of them require thread. I had a very hard time with thread and need to use a yarn of some type and nothing smaller than a G hook... Can anyone suggest a good pattern??? It's a small window so I don't need a huge one, but I'd like to make something that will look good...
I don't neccesarilly need a pattern as I suspect it's just creating a rectangle the size of the window, but a suggested Stitch along with yarn would be appreciated! THANKS!

Since it's not large, I'd pick one you like and make it in a lightweight yarn. Be sure to get a good rod for it so it doesn't fall down. :)

I'd try a lacy stitch. Maybe even a row of pineapples, if you feel so inclined.

first i would suggest maybe some patons grace.. or a similar sport weight cotton.. you might have to use an F instead of a G but its not that much difference..
and then .. I would suggest finding a rectangular doily you like.. and go for it.. m ost likely with the yarn size and hook size changed it will make a perfect curtain size.. or at least panel.. you m ight have to make 2 but .. i think it would be worth it .. or you could join them if you wanted one piece..

Be careful with the Paton's Grace, it's hand washable only. Not something I'd want to do with curtains. :lol

Make some colorful granny squares in your kitchen colors...maybe three each..sew together and hang down from one of those rods using little clip rings to clip the granny to the rod. Then it wouldn't really matter what size hook you used.
