Cape pattern

I'm looking for a childs cape pattern-if you search ebay under boutique crochet you will see a lot of them. They look like ponchos that aren't connected-kwim? I see a lot of stitches in the crochet bible that I would like to do this with. Is there a basic increase pattern I can follow? I'm good withe general directions but a pattern would give me something to play around with. I have searched but can't find any that are as light and trendy looking as the ones on ebay.
