I was beginning to wonder if I was ever going to get to complete this. It was one of those projects that kept getting put on the back burner. But I finally got it done early this morning.
I am calling it Autumn Sensations. It is done in size 10 Monaco raylon that I got from Jaclim in a rich gold color, Nice Thread Jackie. I used a size 4 hook. It is trimmed with beads on the edging. Measures 69 inches wide by 30 inches long. When my Dh first saw it on the back of the couch he went WOW!!!! and I was so touched as he rarely gets to excited over my stuff anymore, He just sees so much of it. So for me to get that sort of response from him was worth a lot. Hope you all like it too.

I am so excited, I am bouncing off the walls. I Submitted this design to the Crochet Guild of America, I was informed this morning that it had been accepted. So I am offically going to be published. I can't believe it.

Well I recieved my copy of the pattern yesterday and wanted to share my excitement with all of you who have been so supportive. I probably would never of sent the pattern in if it wasn't for all of your encouragement. I owe you all a lot.
It is really something to see your own design in print for the very first time. I can't describe the feeling. Overwhelming?

I've been lurking here for about a month and like a few others, finally signed up in response to this thread to say OMG! That is gorgeous and bravo!!!! :clap

I tried my first thread crochet (a round white meshy tablecloth with a pineapple border) almost 15 years ago (doesn't seem like it :eek) and was fascinated wtih the whole process of working that, although it took forever. The center part of it appears to be what everyone is calling filet (solid parts amongst a design). I think that once I get it washed and bleached, I'll post a pic.

I still have a spool or two of extra #10 white cotton that I bought to make something else some day. Some day.... :P This pattern would be great for so many things! :hook

Thanks for the welcome! :D This is such a great place. With so many of us having had to learn how to do needlework the old-fashioned way over the decades, often stumbling along by ourselves, it's good to see a universal place where there's so much positivity and help and support 24/7 for anyone new to crocheting and other needle crafts. :hook

Ooh - YIPPEE! I'm so THRILLED for you, Kathy! CONGRATULATIONS! And I'm SO impatient to get my mitts on that pattern!

Question - would I need to get a membership in order to be able to get this pattern, or will it be available for purchase by anyone visiting the site? I'd like to be prepared, as I MUST have that pattern!

This is so exciting! And I can hardly wait for you to finish designing and publish those doily patterns too! :hook

Anyone can order off of their site, Just if you are a member you get it for half price. Membership does have it's advantages.

Thank you everyone for all your good wishes, They are definitely appreciated. I still find it a little hard to believe. This type of thing happens to other people not me.

Did you make your necklace as well? Yes Alex the choker is one of my designs. It's my Keyhole Choker.

Bouncing off the walls and jingling through the house. :-) That's an amusing thought. Beautiful scarf, thanks for sharing.

Congratulations Kathy!!!!!!
It is a beautiful shawl. I'm sure that you will see many more of your patterns in print. All that I have seen are certainly worthy of being published. You should submit many more.
