View Full Version : fur stitch - how do you make twisted loops?

Hi,

I have been trying to get a certain effect using the fur stitch - creating closed long loops within a row of single crochet the but then not cutting them afterward. I would like the effect to be of twisted loops.

I am trying to figure out whether there is something I can do in the stiching process to create twists within my loops or if not what type of yarn I should be using.

This is a photo of my attempts and the look I am going for.

(Sorry for the terrible image but I am just getting used to my digital camera.)

However to get this effect, I hand twisted each loop after completing it. I am looking for a less labor intensive and more permanent (er, won't they become untwisted if part of a garment) way of getting the same effect.

I used a (beautiful) non-plyed worsted merino wool for the swatch

Any thoughts on this?
Thanks!
