Oooh, it's so pretty, and I usually am not a big fan of doilies! I'd leave it as is, it's very striking in its simplicity (simplicity in look, not the work that went into it of course, if that makes any sense! :think ).

I agree with everyone. It is gorgeous just the way it is. Of course, your doiles are always gorgeous and in a class all by themselves. It's elegant and not busy. The swans would just take away from the roses.

You did another outstanding job, to put it mildly, and I'm drooling here.:)

Nope, the pattern is a Laura Wheeler design. I just crocheted in a couple of hearts and changed the edge a little. I was going to put on a pink edge but thought better of it. Too much pink is scary. :scared I don't design much anymore because I am learning to do quilting. I just got my new machine today and am waiting for the frame. I am a little scared to go into business. I do ok with my doilies but theres more money in quilting. I used to put up 3 doilies a week ( I am a slow crocheter) lately it been 1 doily in three weeks. :blush

It's called valentine. I can't tell you what book because I printed it and the book is in never never land. I did look but didn't find it. I have a mountian of books.

You can find the pattern in Elizabeth Hiddleson's Crochet Originals volume 17. I just happened to notice it on the cover yesterday when I was cruising for something else. After seeing Priscilla's Beauty it jumped right at me.
