I just finished the Pineapple Blossoms Doily from this months Hooked on Crochet. (http://www.hooked-on-crochet.com/)
I used size 10 (Aunt Lydias) and a 7 hook...it comes out to be 12" once blocked.
It was a super easy pattern to work up but it was a real pain to block:P. I have talked to several others who also finished it, and they all had the same problems with blocking! Lots of ruffling and cupping (which is usually a sign of uneven tension)but it must be the pattern since all of us had the same problems...if you ever plan to make this one, be sure to have plenty of pins on hand LOL!!!

It looks fabulous, I know the feeling though when it curls, I have a bunch of pins for when that happens.

Lovely doily, and you did a marvelous job. If you try it again, try going out 2 more repeats of your loop rows before starting the dc rows and I think you would find it lies better. It wouldn't change your count, but will give your dcs more room to lay correctly. Just a thought. It is such a pretty doily.

Your job is great! I love pineapple motifs and designed quite a few stuffs in pineapple theme.
"THE PINEAPPLE has served as both a food and a symbol throughout the human history of the Americas". Here is a web site talking about social history of the pineapple. http://www.levins.com/pineapple.html:gallery

Thanks for the idea- I just attatched a sticky note to the pattern so I can try that out in the future. Wish I had paid more attention to it at the beginning, but it was one of those things that you just keep hoping will fix itself on the next round LOL! Oh well, it all worked out in the end!:D
