I bought a pattern from Fiber Trends for their new crocheted felted ballet slippers. They are just adorable:)h , but they are for an adult size, and I want to make them for my 2 year old. They call for worsted wool, but that will only felt down just so far, and then no more, right:thinking1 ? So I am thinking that maybe a thinner wool yarn will work better. Any suggestions as to what yarn I should look for:shrug ? And what size hook for the thin yarn:thinking2 ? Any tips on how to get these to the right size are most welcome and appreciated!! I have never felted before.

If you use a thinner yarn it will full down more than with a ww yarn. However, I'd be suprised if you can get an adult pattern to full enough for a two year old to wear them.
You might be better off experimenting on how to use less stitches to make the finished project smaller. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v478/SamplerLady/mmouseplus.gif

That's an idea. Maybe I should just make myself a pair first, to get a feel for the pattern and the felting process. Then I will have an idea of how loose the stitches should be, and how to best decrease the size. Thanks for your input!
