i'm needing the KISS (Keep It Simple (i'm kinda) Stupid) instructions for felting. i've been reading but everything i've found gives tips, but nothing itemized.
1. toss item in washer with tennis balls, shoes, towels or jeans. (this one is supposed to be hot, right?)
2. (do we add vinegar to the agitation cycle - or the rinse?)
3. rinse in cold (if wash was hot)
will someone please fill in (and correct) a itemized list of how to felt... beginning to end???
thank you!!

Make the item using 100% wool (not superwash) or a blend of other animal fibers (not silk), using a larger than normal size hook and make it larger than you want the finished project to be.
Fill washing machine on lowest level with HOT water. Add soap or vinegar to water and agitate for a second or two to dissolve soap. Throw wool item in water with tennis balls, jeans, kids plastic toys, tennis shoes....anything that will beat on the woolen project. Set washer for longest setting and cold rinse.
Run washer for awhile and check item to see if it's reached the size you want. Repeat wash/rinse cycle until item is the desired size. You can add more vinegar to the rinse cycle if you like to assist more fulling of item.
Lay item flat to dry.
